This past February, a few staff members of Beach Mosquito Control attended the annual American Mosquito Control Association Conference held in San Diego, California. This conference is an important part of the continuing mission to control pestiferous and disease vectoring mosquitoes. The AMCA meeting is a great opportunity to network with fellow industry professionals. The annual meeting is also a great way to share new strategies in mosquito control as well as new technologies. The annual AMCA meeting is also to highlight those individuals whom have excelled in the field of mosquito control. It is with great pride, that Beach Mosquito’s own Danny Hood was selected as a recipient of The Boyd-Ariaz Grass Roots Award. This award recognizes non-supervisory field staff and technician excellence. Danny Hood was selected for nomination, due to his constant drive to improve many aspects of mosquito surveillance, as well as his steadfast dedication in improving mosquito control as a whole. Danny being a winner of the Boyd-Ariaz Grass Roots Award, was given a plaque, a $200.00 check, complimentary AMCA meeting registration, and up to $500.00 reimbursement of meeting expenses. Beach Mosquito sincerely congratulates Danny Hood for this most prestigious award.
